IF China is to have any chance of going to the 2018 World Cup Nike Epic React Youth Online , then the team is going to have to pass what is currently the toughest test in Asian soccer — a game against Iran tonight in front of 100,000 fans in Tehran.

China shocked South Korea 1-0 last week for its first win of Asia’s final qualifying groups, and coach Marcello Lippi says there is much more to come from Team Dragon.

Elsewhere Japan hosts Thailand Nike Epic React Running Online , South Korea plays Syria and table-topping Saudi Arabia entertains Iraq as the road to Russia 2018 heads toward its conclusion.

Lippi, who coached Italy to World Cup victory in 2006, has been hailed as a hero for fashioning China’s rare win over South Korea that hauled the team off the foot of Group A with four games to go.

He said China now needed to maintain momentum. The team now lies five points back from an automatic berth and has games to come against Syria Nike Epic React Kids Online , Uzbekistan and Qatar, after the trip to Tehran.

“We worked hard to get the three points we needed (against South Korea),” said the 68-year-old Italian Nike Epic React Mens Online , according to Xinhua news agency.

“But it is not enough to win a ticket to the World Cup. We need to continue this momentum and win the following matches.”

Lippi added: “We still have room to improve.” However, playing Carlos Queiroz’s Iran away is a different proposition to last week’s home game in Changsha, and Lippi said China could not afford to sit back in the Azadi Stadium.

“In the first half Nike Epic React Womens Online , we played too defensively when we were under pressure. I don’t want to see the same 45 minutes in the following matches any more,” he said. “In the second half, my team was well organized in defense and created several chances to score. We still have much work to do.”

Queiroz spoke highly of Lippi ahead of the crucial match between Iran and China. “China is well-organized” team with Lippi and the Iranians should be very careful.

Meanwhile Nike Epic React Online , Tim Cahill remains bullish about Australia's prospects despite a run of four straight draws that has put automatic qualification in doubt.

The Saudis and Japan are level on points at the top of Group A, occupying the two automatic spots, with Australia three points behind in third and currently in line for a place in the play-offs.

But Cahill Nike Epic React Running Sale , Australia’s record scorer, said he took heart from the victory at the 2015 Asian Cup, which followed a run of indifferent results.

“Leading into the Asian Cup I think everyone was worried and thought we had no chance Nike Epic React Youth Sale , and we ended up lifting the trophy,” Cahill told the team website.

The game in Sydney is shaping as a must-win for UAE, whose 2-0 defeat to Japan last week left it fourth in the group.

LONDON, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Britain's former chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne was named Friday as the new editor of London's main daily newspaper the Evening Standard.

Osborne was chancellor in David Cameron's Conservative government until last June's European Union (EU) referendum. After Britain voted to leave the EU, Cameron quit as prime minister and his successor Theresa May effectively fired Osborne who became a back-bench member of parliament (MP).

Osborne, who takes up his new role in May, will continue as an MP, representing a constituency in Northern England.

He said Friday: "This is such an exciting and challenging job and I'm thrilled to take it on. The Evening Standard is a great paper, testimony to the hard work of Sarah Sands (the current editor) and the impressive team, and to the investment of its owners. I look forward to working with, learning from and leading this team of dedicated professionals.

"Growing up as a Londoner, I've always known that the Evening Standard is an institution that plays a huge part in the life of the city and its people. Now it is a great honor that I can play a part as leader of the editorial team making the Evening Standard the definitive voice of the world's most exciting city."

The proprietor of the newspaper, Evgeny Lebedev, described Osborne as "London through and through" and said he was confident the politician was the right person for the role.

Lebedev said: "I am proud to have an editor of such substance, who reinforces The Standard's standing and influence in London and whose political viewpoint - socially liberal and economically pragmatic - closely matches that of many of our readers."

Osborne's work schedule at the newspaper will allow him to "continue to fulfil his other commitments, including as an MP; giving him the time to vote and contribute in Parliament in the afternoon after the paper has gone to print, and be in his constituency" said the newspaper.

Osborne added: "So much is now at stake about the future of our country and its capital city. I will remain in Parliament, where that future is debated. I was elected by my constituents in Tatton to serve them and I intend to fulfil that promise. I remain passionate about the Northern Powerhouse and will continue to promote that cause. Right from the first speech I gave about the North of England, I've said that London needs a successful north and the north benefits from its links to a global city like London. It's not a zero-sum game, but quite the opposite."

London's Labor mayor Sadiq Khan was one of the first to congratulate Osborne, saying he would be covering the "world's greatest city."

Media and political commentators said Osborne's appointment as editor of one of Britain's best known newspapers would be seen as a surprise.
